Generally, the information contained in the current year's academic bulletin is considered official, but publication deadlines and other circumstances may affect some parts (e.g., faculty or administrative lists, course offerings, some of the statistics in the opening section), so you should double-check information that may change from year to year with the registrar, the vice president for administration, or the Office of Marketing and Communication.
The Office of Marketing and Communication maintains a Fact Sheet containing statistics and other information about Gustavus that should be used when developing statements, releases, brochures, etc. for public dissemination. For example, the enrollment of the College is complicated by FTEs, international exchanges, post-secondary option students, withdrawals, and the like, so the Administrative Council has agreed that we all should use the same number, based upon full-time enrollment and updated each term.
Another example: We "officially" offer intercollegiate competition in 25 sportsa total that does not include sports with "club" status (e.g., rugby, mens volleyball, lacrosse, bicycling), and that counts indoor and outdoor track as two different opportunities for each gender but spring and fall golf and tennis as one sport each for each gender.
Gustavus community service programs have been recognized at the state level. Four programs (Big Partners/Little Partners, the After School Clubs, Study Buddies, and FLEX) have received Minnesota Service Awards, and the Community Service Center has earned the Governor's Star Award for Service, the top award given for college service programs.
