Samantha Frank and Megan Gaard Finish Second in Doubles at ITA Midwest Regional

The Gustavus women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season with a solid performance at the ITA Midwest Regional and the Fall Invitational, both of which were hosted at Gustavus this past weekend. Sophomore Sam Frank and first year Megan Gaard turned in the top performance with a second place finish in the ITA Doubles Tournament. Frank and Gaard lost to Molly Fiala and Andrea Schupach of Coe 8-4 in the championship match.

• Sam Frank, Megan Gaard Go Undefeated in Singles and Doubles On First Day of ITA Regional Tournament
  Sophomore Sam Frank and first year Megan Gaard picked up multiple wins in both singles and doubles play to lead the Gustavus women's tennis team on the first day of the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional being played at the Swanson Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts on the Gustavus campus. The tournament continues on Saturday and concludes with the singles and doubles championship matches on Sunday.
• Women's Tennis Set To Host Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional This Weekend
  Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts. The Women's Division III Midwest Region Championships will take place Friday, September 19 through Sunday, September 21.
• Gustavus Women's Tennis Performs Well In First Day at Gopher Invitational
  The Gustavus women's tennis team kicked off its fall season at the Gopher Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis on Friday. The Gusties are the only non-Division I program in the 10-team field. Sophomore Marianne Barau and first year Mary Roop both went 2-0 in singles play on the first day.
• Gustie Tennis Players Claim Doubles Titles At Aquatennial Classic
  A blend of current and former Gustavus tennis players made their mark at the recent 2008 Boston Scientific Aquatennial Plaza Tennis Classic by claiming men's, women's, and mixed doubles titles. The first title was won by the #2-seed duo of Lauren Hom and Sierra Krebsbach, who defeated Rajasree Hawk and Amy Jamieson 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (4) in the women's doubles final. Krebsbach (North Oaks, Minn.) will be a junior at Gustavus this fall, and is a two-time All-American in doubles.
