Gustavus Hires Assistant Vice
President of Integrated Marketing

ST. PETER, Minn. (July 31, 2003) -- Stacia Senne, news director at Gustavus Adolphus College, has been named assistant vice president for integrated marketing at the college. Senne begins her new position Aug. 1. Senne has worked in the Office of Public Relations at Gustavus for 14 years.

Since 1990, Senne has been a storyteller at Gustavus "wearing many hats," including writer, editor, media relations' manager, internal communications coordinator, and publications coordinator. She was part of the Gustavus communication team that received a Gold Medal for Crisis Management following the 1998 tornado that damaged campus and St. Peter. The national award for excellence in a communications program was from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

In addition, for 12 years Senne advised The Gustavian Weekly student newspaper, which under her guidance earned awards from the Minnesota Newspaper Association's College Better Newspaper Contest. Senne has taught journalism and photography seminars for elementary and high school students through academic summer camps at Gustavus and young writer's conferences in the area. Senne has also given presentations at professional conferences.

In her new position, Senne will provide leadership for the college's integrated marketing, communication, and public relations programs. She will supervise the offices of Fine Arts Programs, News, Publications, Special Events, Sports Information, and Web Communications.

Currently pursuing a master's degree in educational leadership at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Senne received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Prior to joining Gustavus, Senne worked as a journalist for newspapers based in Waseca, New York Mills, and Moose Lake, Minn. Senne is the daughter of Michael and Terry Vogel of Sand Lake, Minn. She is a native of Moose Lake, Minn.
