Fall Student-Athletes Return to Campus

While a majority of Gustavus Adolphus College students will not return to campus until next week, many students who participate on fall athletic teams have already arrived in St. Peter.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,600 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. The oldest Lutheran college in Minnesota, Gustavus was founded in 1862 by Swedish immigrants and named for Swedish King Gustav II Adolf. Coneflower Prairie Project Moves Forward

In 2007, the Linnaeus Arboretum at Gustavus Adolphus College received a grant from the Carl and Verna Schmidt Foundation to help develop a new 70-acre prairie on the west side of the arboretum. The development of the new “Coneflower Prairie” took a significant step forward earlier this fall when the planting process was initiated by Feder’s Prairie Seed Co. of Blue Earth, Minn.

The Hillstrom Museum of Art at Gustavus Adolphus College will host two new exhibitions from Monday, Nov. 24 to Friday, Jan. 30. Illusion and Certainty (Paintings by Martin Weinstein) will be on display concurrently with Come On!: American Posters from World War I.
