Syllabuspalooza!

Syllabuspalooza! It's the last week before classes begin so it must be time to "finish" up our syllabi! Join the Kendall Center for Syllabuspalooza in the Konfersrum from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday, August 23 and Monday, August 26 . Fuel up on coffee and treats before heading back you your office to work or stay enjoy the camaraderie of working alongside others putting the last (or first) touches on their syllabi for Fall.

New Tenure Track Faculty Welcome Lunch

There will be a lunch and meeting for New tenure track Faculty on Monday, August 26 from noon to 2:30pm in the President's Dining Room (PDR).

New Faculty Orientation Day

New Faculty Orientation Day will be held on Tuesday, January 27 in the Heritage Room, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Meet other faculty new to Gustavus, tour important offices (e.g. the Registrar, Academic Support and Technology Services), have conversations with returning faculty about working here, and learn more about resources available to help new faculty feel more comfortable at and knowledgeable of Gustavus. New faculty members are introduced to the history and traditions of the College, as well as provided the opportunity to learn about various support services offered by the institution. All new faculty at Gustavus are expected to attend a day-long orientation session sponsored by the John S. Kendall Center for Engaged Learning.

Sabbatical Re-Entry Lunch

There will be a lunch and meeting for those faculty returning from Sabbatical on Tuesday, August 27 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the St Peter Room.

Faculty Development Day

Faculty Development Day offers an opportunity to convene as a learning community to explore effective practices in teaching, scholarship, and creativity. Focusing on growth and community-building, the concurrent sessions provide faculty with concrete ideas they can incorporate into their classes, research, and workflow without making substantial changes and revisions to syllabi and calendars. Faculty Development Day provides a chance to connect with new colleagues across the college and with faculty one may not encounter on a daily basis during the semester. Please join us on Wednesday, August 28 beginning at 8:30 am thru lunch.

First Friday Faculty Social

All faculty are invited to the First Friday Faculty Social on Friday, September 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Interpretive Center. Refreshments provided. Hosted by the John S. Kendall Center for Engaged Learning and the Office of the Provost.
