Discussion with Frank Bures, author of The Geography of Madness, a book about "cultural syndromes," which Newsweek called one of the best travel books of the decade. His work has been included in the Best American Travel Writing, and selected as “Notable” in the Best American Travel Writing, Best American Essays, and Best American Sports Writing nineteen times. His stories have appeared in Harper’s, Outside, Runner’s World, Bicycling, Men's Health, Slate, The Atlantic, and other places.  He grew up in Winona, Minnesota, attended St. Olaf College, and has lived in Italy, Tanzania, Thailand, New Zealand, and Wisconsin.
