The Gustavus women's golf team held off long-time nemesis St. Thomas to win the first MIAC Championship in the program's history on Monday afternoon at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, Minn. The Gusties fired a 54-hole total of 324-333-323--980 to finish nine strokes ahead of St. Thomas, which posted a total of 328-335-326--989. Senior Kimbra Kosak tied for second individually with a total of 80-84-79--243.

Kimbra Kosak Named MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week
Gustavus Adolphus College senior Kimbra Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn.) has been named the MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week by the league coaches. Kosak shot 78-75--153 to finish in fourth place in the Southwest Minnesota State Invitational in Marshall, Minn. In a field of 15 Division II teams and only two Division III teams, Kosak's nine-over-par led the Gusties to a fourth place team finish. As a team, Gustavus finished with a 322-315--637 (+61).
